Precision Engineering Since 1928
Established in 1928, TS Henderson has evolved from a repair garage into a globally recognised precision engineering firm. Our 80+ years of expertise are rooted in continuous technological innovation, from early cam auto machines to state-of-the-art CNC machining systems operating 24/7. We specialise in producing complex components for industries ranging from automotive to aerospace, maintaining tolerances as tight as 5 microns through advanced 3D printing, sliding head technology, and multi-axis milling. Our commitment to quality is evidenced by ISO 9001:2015 certification and investments in LED lighting, automated machinery, and apprenticeship programs. With a 14,500sqft facility near Hay-on-Wye, we combine traditional engineering excellence with modern production efficiency to deliver cost-effective solutions for one-off prototypes to high-volume production runs.

Services
CNC Turning
Our CNC turning services utilise 10 fixed head centres with magazine bar feed systems for high-precision components. Capable of 24/7 production with tolerances under 10 microns, we handle materials from mild steel to exotic alloys. Advanced features include driven tooling for combined turning/milling operations and Renishaw tool pre-setters for enhanced accuracy.
3D Printing
We offer FDM and SLA 3D printing with 20+ material options including carbon fiber composites and medical resins. Our technology enables prototyping and small batch production with 5-micron precision. In-house CAD design support ensures manufacturability, while 24/7 production with camera monitoring guarantees consistent quality for complex geometries.
Sliding Head Technology
The SR-32J sliding head lathe reduces cycle times by 50% through simultaneous main/sub-spindle operations. Ideal for complex, high-volume components, this technology achieves superior concentricity and surface finish. Capabilities include angular drilling, thread whirling, and deep-hole machining with programmable C-axis control on both spindles.
Surface Grinding
Our Jones & Shipman surface grinders deliver flatness tolerances within 0.001mm using electromagnetic chucks. We handle form grinding, angle work via magnetic sine tables, and chipper blade sharpening. The 540p and 1400LAR models ensure precision for both small components and large industrial parts.
Deburring Systems
Automated bowl deburring removes sharp edges from machined parts with batch capacities up to 500kg. This process eliminates manual finishing variability while providing anti-rust protection. We offer free sample processing and full batch traceability for consistent quality in high-volume production runs.
